With nowhere to go and no way to find his family on his own, Ducky enlists the help of the first person that he runs into after fleeing the facility. Meadow Woods; a former street kid who recognizes a runaway when she sees one.
Unfortunately, Meadow has problems of her own. The chronic illness that has been eating away at her for years is on the verge of becoming fatal. She knows that she doesn’t have much time left and worries about leaving her best friend Indigo Marvell behind.
Someone in her situation is probably the last person that Ducky should trust but he doesn’t have any other choice. He desperately tries to keep his secret as she helps him, needing to be on his way before she can try to take advantage of his powers.
Her kindness makes him waver about trusting her but he absolutely cannot trust Indigo, who is desperate to keep her alive at any cost. Ducky is terrified to find out just how far Indigo will go to get what he wants.
